Alamogordo DPS Central Station Renovations

White Sands Construction was selected by the City of Alamogordo for this project as a result of the company’s extensive experience in structural upgrades and repairs. In addition to the structural repairs, the scope of work also included renovation of approximately 10,000 square feet of the existing Public Safety Building including complete interior remodeling. The project included demolition of existing walls and offices and the conversion of an emergency vehicle bay into multiple offices. Work elements included: a new three-coat stucco system, masonry infill and roof upgrades; light-gage steel framing; gypsum wallboard; painted walls; hollow metal doors and frames and new wood doors complete with security hardware and electronic sensor devices; aluminum single-hung and fixed windows and stainless steel deal trays; approximately twenty linear feet of new upper and lower laminated cabinets and countertops; carpet, carpet tile and vinyl composition tile flooring with vinyl base; new five-ton refrigerated air systems with ductwork; new exhaust fans; lavatories, sinks and water closets and associated plumbing; and, electrical additions and upgrades including wiring, wiring devices, light switches, light fixtures with electronic ballasts and emergency exit lighting. White Sands performed approximately 60% of the work with in-house crews.
