Alamogordo State Police Offices Security Upgrades

Scope of Work (SOW):

  1. All spaces where demolition by Contractor occurs to be repainted and finished to match existing.
  2. All new lights to be LED.
  3. Furniture removal/relocation by Contractor.
  4. Hazardous materials testing by Owner.

1. New Booking Room:

  1. Remove Existing VCT and Cove Base and Install New VCT and 4" Cove Base in booking room.
  2. Furnish & Install new Transition Strip at Door Entry for Flooring
  3. Cut, Modify, Frame Opening, and Patch Drywall for 3’tall x3’ wide new tempered one-way glass window in storefront frame (black in color and installed 48" AFF).
  4. Remove residential metal screen door, fill holes in HM Frame, prep/paint Existing Frame.
  5. Remove all cabinets and booking chairs
  6. Remove & Dispose of 3 Wood benches that are currently anchored to floor.
  7. Remove & Salvage Booking Chair that is currently anchored to floor.
  8. Remove & Replace and/or Fix Existing 16”wide x20” Tall Access Panel
  9. New plastic laminate countertop with backsplash and counter supports – 24” deep x 10’ wide (Corner to Corner) (countertop will have to be notched Around Wall Bump-outs at each corner.
  10. Tape bed and texture all repairs and provide new paint at Entire Room.(Existing Wood Door to Remain as is)

2. New Holding Room:

  1. Remove existing holding room wood door and Hollow Metal Frame.
  2. Modify Existing Framing as Needed for New Hollow Metal Frame
  3. New 3’x7’ Hollow Metal Door and Frame for holding room complete with Detention Hardware per attached specs. New Hollow metal Door to be half glass with tempered one-way glass window. Door to be also equipped with a pass-thru detention hardware.
  4. Prep & Paint New Hollow metal Frame and Door to Match Existing Frames and Doors in Facility
  5. Prep & Paint Exterior Wall where new Hollow metal frame will be installed – 36’ wide x 8’ tall (Match existing color as close as possible)
  6. Remove Existing carpet tile and 4” cove base.
  7. New standard epoxy floor and 4” base in holding room. (Existing is carpet tile so floor needs to be properly prepped)
  8. Furnish & Install new Transition Strip at Door Entry for Flooring
  9. New holding benches and rails anchored to structure. Quantity 2 - Lengths 1- at 4’ and 1 at 3’ - see attached specs
  10. Remove Existing 2’x2’ Acoustical ceiling grid and tile.
  11. Fur down new Ceiling and provide new drywall ceiling, textured, and painted to match existing walls.
  12. Remove Existing Lay-in Lighting (2) and replace with flush mounted fixtures for drywall ceiling. Lighting to be IBC metal covered, tamper proof as required. New Lighting to be 1 – 2’x4’ LED flush mount light.
  13. Relocate Existing Light Fixture switch outside of room in hall adjacent to new hollow metal frame.
  14. All existing outlets in holding room shall be blanked off with stainless steel cover plates with tamper proof screws.
  15. Remove Existing HVAC lay in grilles and provide new surface mounted diffusers - 1-12”x12” supply air grille and 1-12”x12” return air grille
  16. Tape bed and texture all repairs and provide new paint at Entire Room.

3. Exterior Booking Door

  1. Remove existing exterior booking door and provide new insulated 3’x7’ hollow metal frame to fit in existing frame.
  2. Fill holes in existing HM Frame
  3. Prep & Paint existing Hollow metal Frame and new hollow metal Door to Match Existing Frames and Doors in Facility
  4. Furnish and install the following hardware for new door in existing frame:
    1. Closer
    2. Panic Bar that will work with Existing Card Reader
    3. Remount Existing Card Reader Controls
    4. Threshold, Weatherstripping, Kickplate, and Door Sweep
    5. Drip Cap for Top of Door
    6. Heavy Duty Hinges
    7. Pull handle or Similar for Exterior Access Controlled by Card Reader

4. Common Hallway Exiting Admin Area

  1. Remove and Swap Doors in Corridor and Hallway
  2. Change and Swap Out Locks Only
  3. Remove & Replace Existing Glass with new tempered one-way glass window – 6” wide x 30” tall (Existing vision lite is held in door with wood trim – this is to be removed)
  4. Furnish and Install new vision lite frame for new one-way glass window
  5. Existing Finishes on Wood Doors and Hollow Metal Frames to Remain as is

5. Private Bathroom Door

  1. Re-use Existing wood door and install new vision lite frame with new tempered one-way glass window – 6” wide x 30” tall
  2. Existing Finish on Wood Door and Hollow Metal Frame to Remain as is

6. Interior Electrical

  1. Back up battery system for emergency lighting and lay-in lighting/ballasts thru out admin area for safety egress
  2. Back up battery system for keypad access and cameras - NIC done by Others
  3. Holding Room Camera - NIC done by Others
  4. Booking Door Camera - NIC done by Others
  5. Hallway Camera - NIC done by Others

7. Exterior Electrical

  1. Ensure the light angles are to code.
  2. Entire exterior building lighting automated with timer and/or photocell
  3. Remove and Replace building mounted flagpole light fixture with new LED fixture.
  4. Remove & Replace all Existing Wall Packs (5) with New LED Wall packs - see attached specs.
  5. Add Two (2) New LED Wall packs, both on west side of building (1 in fenced area) - see attached specs.
  6. Existing Automatic gate operator replacement. – Remove & Replace with Similar Model – See attached Existing pictures. Existing Concrete Pad for Operator is 24”x36”x4” thick. Existing gate is chain-link with 3 strands of barbwire. (Gate Dimensions are 32’ wide x 7’3” tall)
  7. Furnish and install new exit loop and 12-volt and/or 24-volt battery backup
  8. New Operator must be compatible for card reader access to be done by others.
  9. Fix and Ensure Electrical to Gate Operator is sealed and properly terminated.

8. New Ramp and Stairs for Booking Intake at Rear Entry

  1. Remove & Replace Existing concrete sidewalk from new ADA ramp past Existing Exterior Booking Door (Existing is Settling) - Make sure concrete is replaced from joint to joint.
  2. ADA Concrete ramp with painted railing to access existing parking lot.
  3. New Concrete stairs with painted railing adjacent to New ADA Concrete ramp.
  4. Remove and Dispose of Existing Concrete and gravel.
  5. Cut and Demo Existing Slump Block wall inside of fence area down to existing exterior slab to prevent people from jumping fence into impound area.
  6. Furnish and Install metal plate at existing chain-link fence to prevent intrusion into fenced area once slump block wall is removed. Weld in place, prep, and paint.

9. New Asphalt

  1. Demo of existing asphalt as required (check slope).
  2. New 2” asphalt over 4” base course near booking and for 90% parking. See attached google earth image
  3. Leave unfinished space for onsite impound.
  4. Slope to unfinished area for ponding
  5. Remove and Demo Small Tree in Fence on West Side of Building and Fix Barbed Wire at top of Fence
  6. Stripe new Asphalt Areas to Maximize spots and to accommodate ADA ramp and existing concrete

New Fencing. Electrical, Gate Operator, Etc.

Overview: The State Police Station requires enclosure of portion of private existing lot to increase security of personnel and vehicles.

  1. New 6’ Tall Basic Commercial Fence with 3-strands of bar wire for a 7’3” overall rough height at Rear Entry- See attached google earth image
  2. All fence posts to be core drilled thru existing asphalt and set on concrete
  3. Furnish and Install one new 16’ manual vehicle gate on north side of property
  4. Furnish and Install one new 4’ manual man gate on north side of building
  5. Furnish and Install one new 26’ automatic vehicle gate on west side of property, complete with gate operator, exit loop, 12-volt and/or 24-volt battery backup
  6. New Operator must be compatible for card reader access to be done by others.
  7. Electrical to be from existing gate operator to be replaced above on existing fence.
  8. Saw-cut, remove, and Replace Asphalt for New Electrical and Exit Loop for new Gate operator
  9. Saw-cut and remove asphalt at automatic gate for new 12” wide x 12” deep concrete ribbon to be installed under sliding gate roller.
  10. Saw-cut and remove asphalt at automatic gate operator for new concrete pad to be installed under operator
  11. Remove & Replace Concrete pad at existing gate operator so electrical sub can properly tie in new gate operator power as required.
  12. Furnish and install 4” painted bollards at sliding gate and around new gate operator – approx. 3’ in ground and 5’ out of ground - 15 bollards required
  13. The following items are to remain in place if this alternate is accepted:
    1. Cut and Demo Existing Slump Block wall inside of fence area down to existing exterior slab to prevent people from jumping fence into impound area.
