  • Fort Stanton State Veterans' Cemetery
    • White Sands Construction was contracted to construct the 3,500-grave veteran cemetery. The cemetery is located on 13.5 acres one-half mile south of the original fort. The construction includes direct burial and cremation burial areas, committal shelter, administration and maintenance facility, access roads, fencing, landscaping and utilities. In-ground concrete crypts are being installed in the initial phase of the project to provide easier burial and maintenance operations. The Maintenance and Administration Facility and the Committal Shelter are constructed to complement the existing architecture at the fort, while also providing a durable and maintainable facility. The Work of Contract covers construction of a new cemetery with precast crypts and cremains areas, a new single-story, approx. 2,800 square foot maintenance/administration building, and other site work and improvements located adjacent to the existing Merchant Marine Cemetery at Fort Stanton, State Route 220, New Mexico for the State of New Mexico General Services Department.
    • Work includes: 1. Earthwork, grading and compaction of cemetery area, building sites, access roads and parking areas. 2. Demolition of existing fencing and other site features. 3. Construction of a new one-story, 2,800 square foot maintenance/administration building. 4. Construction of a new committal shelter. 5. Construction of a new cemetery burial area comprising pre-placed precast concrete lawn crypts and areas for buried cremains. 6. Construction of new above-grade columbaria. 7. Construction of new site improvements: a. Asphalt paved parking lot and new access road. b. Concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter. c. Site lighting. d. Maintenance yard, screen walls, material storage structure. e. Decorative fencing and entry features. f. Landscape, planting and planting irrigation. g. On-site storm and wastewater infrastructure. h. New water/fire line connecting project site to water line at existing Fort water tank. i. Re-vegetative seeding of areas disturbed by water line construction. j. Trenching, backfilling and compaction for new public utilities in public ROW on NM220 between project site and Fort Stanton. k. Procurement and coordination of public electric, gas and telephone utility services to project site.

  • Gallup State Veterans’ Cemetery
    • White Sands Construction was contracted to construct a new cemetery with precast crypts and cremains areas, a new single-story, approx. 3,200 square foot maintenance/administration building, and other site work and improvements located on approximately 26 acres of land south of County Road 43 and north of Interstate Highway 40 within the city limits of Gallup, NM. The new cemetery will be owned and managed by the State of New Mexico Department of Veteran Services. The work will include but not limited to the following: 1. Earthwork, grading and compaction of cemetery area, building sites, access roads and parking areas. 2. Demolition of existing fencing and other site features. 3. Construction of a new one-story, 3,200 square foot maintenance/administration building. 4. Construction of a new committal shelter. 5. Construction of a new cemetery burial area comprising pre-placed precast concrete lawn crypts and areas for buried cremains. 6. Construction of new above-grade columbaria. 7. Construction of new site improvements: a. Paved parking lot and new access road. b. Concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter. c. Site lighting. d.   • Angel Fire State Veterans’ Cemetery
    • The Work of Contract covers construction of a new cemetery with precast crypts and cremains areas, a new 1,000 square foot storage building, and other site work and improvements located on approximately 20 acre site north of Angel Fire off Colfax County Road B4. The new cemetery will be owned and managed by the State of New Mexico Department of Veteran Services. The work will include but not limited to the following: 1. Earthwork, grading and compaction of cemetery area, building sites, access roads and parking areas. 2. Demolition of existing fencing and other site features. 3. Construction of a new storage building. 4. Construction of a new cemetery burial area comprising pre-placed precast concrete lawn crypts and areas for buried cremains. 5. Construction of new above-grade columbaria. 6. Construction of new site improvements: a. Paved service yard and new access road. b. Concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter. c. Site lighting. d. Maintenance yard, screen walls, material storage structure. e. Decorative fencing and entry features. f. Landscape, planting and planting irrigation. g. On-site storm and wastewater infrastructure. h. Re-vegetative seeding of areas disturbed construction. i. Procurement and coordination of public electric, gas and telephone utility services to project site.
